Deception ( הַטעָיָה )

King David commences this Psalm with advice concerning the fundamental values which should guide a person throughout his life:  avoid the companionship of the wicked, and engage in Torah study day and night. This will save a person from seething inner turmoil and he will merit a peaceful and successful life.

תְהִלִים, בן ישראל, Hebrew Transliteration

אחד תהילים

(1) Fortunate is the man who did not follow the counsel of the wicked, and not stand in the path of sinners, and did not sit in the haunt of scorners. (2) But the Torah of Hashem is his desire, and he meditates in His Torah day and night. (3) He shall be like a tree firmly planted besides streams of water, that bears its fruit in the proper season, and whose leaves never wither; and everything that he does will prosper. (4) It is not so with the wicked, for they are like chaff that the wind blows away. (5) Therefore, the wicked shall not be vindicated in judgement, nor the sinners in the congregation of the righteous. (6) For Hashem watches the way of the righteous; but the way of the wicked shall perish.
